The E.M.R.L. was organized in 1925. O.C.S.A has participated in this league for over 50 years.

The Match is governed by NRA High Power Rules, where they do not conflict with League Rules. All matches are at the Woburn Sportsmen Association and group transportation from OCSA is possible.

  • Shooting Times to be decided. Morning or Afternoon.

  • Any center fire rifle may be used. AR-15's M1, M1A's and .223, .308 and 30-06 bolt action rifles are common.

  • Any offhand position allowed by NRA Rules may be used.

  • Iron sights or scopes

  • Shooting coats and gloves are allowed but no slings.

OCSA FAMILY DAY

This years OCSA Family Day event will be held on Sunday, September 15th , 2024, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  All ranges will be closed to regular use until 2PM. We have had a great turnout of volunteers in the past and we welcome more! We would appreciate members helping with the following:

  • Firearms for guest to use along with your time on the line to educate proper use and safety of firearm, as well as supervision.

  • Meet and greet people to provide general directions to disciplines as well as talking about our club, membership, etc.

  • Ammunition for all calibers would be appreciated.

  • Administrative help to aid in registration, checking for needs on the line etc.

  • Photos and short videos that the club can use may be uploaded HERE.

The P.E. Brooks Memorial Shoot honors Phil Brooks a former life member of Old Colony Sportsmen’s Association. This event is a ten-shot re-entry match fired at 200 yards on the “ring target” from the standing position. The award categories are any rifle with telescopic sights and any rifle with iron sights. The awards are engraved Revere bowls for first, second and third place. The high aggregate score for scope and irons sights is the match winner. If you have had at least one entry in The 2023/2024 Winter Match you get a free dinner on us. Beverages are your responsibility.

Last year we ordered take out Chinese food in the OCSA Club House. Some have suggested Pizza this year. I think we can do both as long as the volunteers are willing. Guests are welcome but have to pay for their meal. Any suggestions or questions contact George Snow

Schuetzen Rifle Match

The Schuetzen came to America with German immigrants and is used in challenging long-range competition. Its German root is from the word Schütze which can be translated as “shooter.” The Schuetzen is both a rifle and a style of competition steeped in European shooting tradition. The original Schuetzens that arrived with German immigrants were muzzle loaders. Breech Loading Schuetzens are now the rule in competition. Matches are shot at 200 yards with a specialized Schuetzen target.

The OCSA 55th annual Schuetzenfest rifle match will take place on October 19 & 20, 2024. Spectators welcome!

All firing points are covered. Rifle range is closed to regular use both Saturday & Sunday during the match.

Spring Cleanup / Range Closure

The Rfile, Pistol, and Black Powder ranges are closed until 1pm.

It’s that time of year again. The outdoor rifle, pistol, and black powder ranges will be closed for cleanup starting at 9AM until 1PM. Volunteers are encouraged to help for a $25 credit on their 2025 dues. We are looking for about 15-20 people to help. Tool recommendations are gloves, rakes, pitchforks, shovels, hay/mulch rakes, gas weed wackers, wheelbarrows, etc. Some woodwork repair may also occur.
